Water Saving Systems & Green Plumbing Alternatives
Water is very precious, so we make sure that no drop is wasted.
We can assist with rain water harvesting, water recycling.
Rain water harvesting
Consider water shortages in the near future due to drought.
Let us help you design water reticulation systems to resolve immediate water shortage issues from harvesting of rain water and other sources, to resolve the situation.
Grey water recycling
Grey water is defined as all wastewater generated in households or office buildings without fecal contamination. Sources of greywater include: Showers, baths and clothes washing machines. Grey water is generally safe to handle and easier to treat and reuse provided the use of non-toxic soap and personal care products are not used. It is not advisable to use your kitchen water as this is damaging to plant life because of the fat content.
A bath uses 120 liters and a shower 80 liters. You pay for it, then it all goes down the drain. You can use this grey water to immediately irrigate your garden or for flushing your toilet.
Watt’s plumbing has extensive experience with commercial and residential grey water systems.
Early in 2017 Empire Cafe decided to install a grey water system for toilet flushing. Watts plumbing did the installation. With minimal system maintenance we have not used mains water supply to flush the Empire toilets for many months! I recommend a similar system to any business with public toilets. The cost and water savings are significant!
